Before we dig deep about this one, let us know first what is climate change. From bbc.com, climate change is the average weather in a place over many years. Climate change is a shift in those average conditions. The rapid climate change we are seeing now is because of humans using oil, gas and coal for their homes, factories and transport. When these fossil fuels burn, they release greenhouse gases - mostly carbon dioxide (CO2). These gases trap the Sun's heat and cause the planet's temperature to rise.
It’s kind of scary to think how the earth will turn out in the next several years. What things have changed since climate change? Well, if you know or even notice this changeable thing, Extreme weather events are already more intense, threatening lives and livelihoods, even numerous countries or counties were vulnerable to having a big flood, and they can’t solve that problem.
Every contingent has a conference to talk about this issue and we, as the citizens, what should we do? Contributing yourself in preventing this issue doesn’t need a minimum or maximum age. But I’m going to talk about teenagers. As teenagers, we can also help the grown individuals to avert this climate change. But how?
Well, we can do some simple things. For example, Reduce, reuse, repair & recycle (4R), we can buy fewer things, shop second-hand, repair what you can and recycle. And the other one is making some community and spreading these issues, so they can realize how important it is to change their old habit into a new and good habit. I don’t know whether it’s logical, but be more vegan. Eating more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, and less meat and dairy, can significantly lower your environmental impact. Walking, cycling or taking public transport also can help to reduce this issue. By doing this action, we can reduce some Greenhouse gas emissions. So, have you done one of them?
